Delete your account

You can delete your account and all the content linked to it from inside the App:

  1. Open BangerSkies and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Deletion is immediate and permanent. It removes your account, chat messages, sky reports and photos, push tokens and alert forecasts. If you used Sign in with Apple, we also revoke BangerSkies' access to your Apple ID; you can confirm this in iOS Settings → [your name] → Sign in with Apple.

Can't sign in? Email privacy@bangerskies.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm the account is yours and delete it within 30 days. Deleting the App from your phone does not delete your account.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account?

No. Forecasts, place search and viewing spots work without signing in. An account is only needed to chat, post sky reports, and receive alerts when the App is closed.

What does the score mean?

The score (0 to 100) is our estimate of how colourful the sunrise or sunset is likely to look, based on cloud height and cover, atmospheric clarity and the sun's position. It is a rating of the conditions, not a probability, and weather forecasts can change. It is not safety or weather-warning advice.

Why does BangerSkies ask for my location?

To forecast for where you are and suggest nearby viewing spots. Location is only used while the App is open. You can decline and search for a place instead, or change this at any time in iOS Settings → BangerSkies → Location.

I'm not getting alerts

Check that notifications are allowed in iOS Settings → Notifications → BangerSkies, that alerts are turned on in the App, that you are signed in, and that quiet hours are not blocking them. Alerts are only sent for events that reach your score threshold.

How do I block someone?

Open their message or sky report, tap the options menu and choose Block. You won't see each other's content. You can manage blocked users in Settings.

A viewing spot looks unsafe or wrong

Viewing spots are generated automatically from public map data and may be inaccurate or unsafe. Always check access, tides, cliffs and local rules before you go. You can help by updating the place on OpenStreetMap.
